Last bike and FF trip 2019 with curryman

Left home 3:15, and picked up curryman around 3:45.

Before 7AM, there were three cars at the lower space and four at the upper one.

We decided to check the downstream first.

8:02 Deposited our bikes.

Weather got better than the forecast.

10:38 Our conclusion was there were no fish there...

Biked up a little and got started second research above the junction spot.

11:32 My late but joyful first fish was 

superb conditioned.

28 looked like YAMATO IWANA by ant parachute.

11:50 2nd small. Couldn't catch all reactions though, found out that there were good fishes there.

12:32 Found the big rock having big honeycomb of hornet...

Above this rock, could see there were good fishes but they were so selective.

So couldn't catch any for a while...

14:44 Continued to fishing up.

15:01 3rd small one after good one's reaction.

15:50 4th good conditioned one.

16:16 5th one.

Including spooked huge fish, could see several fishes just below the dam.

On the walking back to the bike place, found the floating fish in the pond. It was not sure whether it was trout or not and it was getting dark little by little. If you were me, what are you going to do?

Fall mountain stream

8:28 Got the pole positon.

9:33 First fish after two mistakes.

Situation itself was not bad so far.

Total three reactions below it.

11:46 Nice 26 IWANA after long silence as 2nd one.

12:00 3rd.

12:26 oranged tummied 4th one.

12:34 5th was a kind of superb healthy fish.

27cm, the biggest one today.

13:00 6th had strange shaped body.

13:38 Black YAMATO as 7th.

14:15 this 8th one was the last fish at the upper section.

I started walking back to the bike. Took over 1 hour.

17:04 After 0.5h checking around the OM area in the evening.

Got only one good reaction from the water pocket.

First try for the uppest section

Added two colored ant pattern mainly by thread.

Later noticed that it is easy to be cut by fish's teeth. Should be coated to protect from them.

7:59 Dropped the bike at a little lower place than AIT. There were two bikes separately at AIT.

In the morning got two chases at lower section. It is a kind of expected result.

Checked in the rodge first, and decided to fish around it until dinner time.

13:04 parked at the suspension bridge.

Though there are two cars and bicycle three or four above the bridge, I thought that there should be a chance because they must have started fishing from early morning.

There were two short byte though the section. And at the last hole shaped Y streams, good one took my fly and could set a hook on it once. But it came off immediately...

17:00 dinner time.

I set the second day to unseen the uppest section and I left the lodge at half past 5 and, after breakfast of 5:00, Arrived the upper lodge at half past 6 AM. The feeling that is earlier than an assumption more than 30 minutes. I deposit a bicycle and walk to the junction of two branches. One had too much quantity of water, and should be eliminated from options. Expectation that there is slightly much quantity of water, but is sublimed into the flow that I seem to be able to catch.

Began to fish seriously past 9 AM. Stream itself looked not but though, there is no reaction at all…

I discovered  a preceding person upstream at past 10:00…Are you serious? Went down once.

I discovered a bait angler downstream earlier than expectation. So began to fish a litter upper than him. Got only two nervus bites.

Curryman and I happened to go fishing together, we decided it just yesterday. 21:00 last night, curryman picked me up and slept in his car.

5:26 Time to wake up.

Water level showed 0.19ｍ on the web.

Bikes on the carrier.

Mosquito killer and a cup of coffee.

9:40 First fish at downstream from the moderate depth and flow. There was almost no reaction from the deep hole in the early morning. After almost 1.5h quick research, I headed for the curryman at upstream.

11:13 2nd good fish above the bridge. Got two more strikes from same riffle. It must have stocked many fishes there.

11:27 Superb 3rd one was caught just in front of the dam by the formed beetle parachute pattern.

28cm handsome one, he took my fly very slowly after floating from the bottom having less stones.

There were some signs of fall coming.

13:21 took a rest having lunch and watching curryman's fishing.

I did only one mistake which I missed the huge fish by the line break just after setting a hook. I changed the tippet to longer 5x.

13:40 4th one was the fighter.

30.5 cm joyful SYAKUGAMI IWANA!

14:04 5th one.

14:15 6th one, good pace.

14:48 this nice 7th one has long story. 

 I found him in the pool rising intermittently. It must be the one which I couldn't catch at the last fishing trip. I added 7x tippet and tied #20 black bodied spent type first. But he didn't notice it because he stayed not on the surface but on the middle range. So I changed it to #20 peacock bodied danima pattern. After several casts, he took it very slowly. Got it! Could catch the rising fish by the sight fishing (my current thema).

We decided to go back to the bike soon.

15:12 The last one there as 8th was also nice and strong 27cm.

We started walking back around 15:30.

16:38 could return to the bike.

17:17 First evening fish as 9th.

17:35 10th one was the good looked like 9 SUN sized from the slow pocket water, but he escaped from my camera...

17:40 10th from the riffle.

17:53 Today's last one as 11th was from slow water pocket again. Looked like 8-9 SUN sized good fighter. The fly pattern was black spider parachute through the evening.

18:20 left the and arrived at the gate 19:20.

It was almost perfect game today except one line break. Keep enjoying your long summer vacation(once in 20 years), Lance!
