Lance's long summer vacation DAY 5; From OSHINO to NARITA

Since I lost the hit fly(#22? trico spinner pattern bought in Boise ten years ago) of last OSHINO trip which worked well in the evening as imitation of KUSHIGE. I tied several small spent type yesterday.

From #20 to #26.

Today I had time to the evening, visited OSHINO.
7:53 ready for fishing.

This YAMAME near the bank at my side,

kept rising nicely though,

he was too nervous to fish...

9:05 Could meet the real jewel of OSHINO!

39cm so wild red banded OSHINO rainbow by wet fly.

9:30 32cm big YAMAME which I couldn't catch at the last trip.

#20 black bodied hen hackle spent one tied yesterday worked perfectly!

9:58 Just 30cm so nice YAMAME also!
Very good pace.

Fly was almost same but different body color, brown.

After this one, I visited the fly shop 'River's Edge' to buy something. And met D-chan and F-kun who went to MONTANA this summer. Fun to talk to them!

12:00 Moved downstream.

12:58 Rainbow by white marabou as the fourth one.

FUTASUJI MONKAGERO's dun which just hatched in front of me.

15:36 Got this brown by the sight nymphing #16 pheasant tail.
Just after talking with D-chan.

Time limit was almost there...

15:50 the fifth one was rainbow by spent one.
And added two more small ones as the 6th and 7th.

16:30 Caught this one as 8th and said good bye to D-chan and F-kun.
It is time to go, Lance.

Could pick my daughter up just as scheduled...

Changed to Plan B

Around 5AM, we curryman and I were the parking space to take a bus to the river. But had to give it up because of high water due to typhoon yesterday. Our conclusion was to go to OSHINO as plan B.

Around 7:30, got started fishing.

Joyful first one was superb brown trout by sight nymping.

Got superb sunny day today.

2nd one by the same white marabou.

Had a lunch around my car as a kind of shade.

3rd one by dry fly.

Added one more there as 4th.

Moved to the downstream and 5th by FUTASUJI crippled dun.

What a gorgeous fish it is!

A kind of gold.

Sudden rain made it easy to catch the YAMAME as 7th one by dry fly imitating KUSIGEMADARA.

Small as 8th.

9th was memorial SYAKU YAMAME in the light rain.

Curryman checking my new glass rod.
Added one more bow as 10th by HIGENAGA.

Good restart of Lance's summer fishing!

From early morning to noon

From 4:15 to 5 AM, there were several rises at FUJIKYU and Upper KINDAICHI, but couldn't set a hook.

6:00 1st one by white marabou.

Missed two good bites...

6:21 2nd one by soft hackle.

There were many crane flies seen above JIEITAI bridge.

10:09 by soft hackle again.

Back to the hole in front of hot springs, and had good baetis's hatch and several chances...

OSHINO on Father's Day

One of Father's Day's gifts was going fishing.

Could fish from 7 AM to 4 PM.

Weather was so sunny fine day.

Water color was a little muddy though, there were several rises in the morning around the OSHINO hot spring hole. God several attacks on my CDC stonefly pattern though, couldn't catch any.

Moved upper stream and found the floating good big IWANA. Tied Black CDC baetis danima pattern, and he bit it without hesitation.

36cm nice OSHINO IWANA!

Afternoon I was played by so nice YAMAME above the bridge for a long time. Could set a hook on him finally though, he was hooked off soon. Had fun time there.

Fly fishing is fantastic. I realized that again today. Let's dive into it, Lance!
