Premium Fly Day!

8:36 After about 3 hours drive,
We arrived there almost as scheduled.

10:06 Parked our bikes and tried hole A first time for me.

11:22 My late first fish, after several hooked off.
Looked like they were not activated yet.

Curryman waiting for it.

12:31 2nd small one.
Wet wading was a kind of cold today.
It kept cooler temperature through a day than usual today.

We had occasionally rain especially in the morning.

Felt cold even under the sunshine.
I wore long sleeve, shirt and rain wear.

13:04 Let's be back to our bicycles.

Cut woods.

14:08 Our last parking place today between B and C close to O.

14:41 I couldn't say I caught it.
3rd one should be called 'It was just caught...'.

Let's move down by foot.

15:48 Very good 4th one escaped by himself before he was taken pic by me... He took my fly very slowly.

Let's have a break just for change.

16:31 Small 5th one.

17:41 OMADARA? Getting good condition in the evening at upper section.

18:08 So nice 6th one from the slow stream.
I was going to stop fishing by this nice one though,

tried two more holes in my sight.

18:17 Memorial 7th one was likely YAMATO,

and my first SYAKU IWANA there!

Could see several KOKAGE there in the evening.
Must be best in shape in the end of June and the early July.
Would like to come again soon. Yes, it was just 'Premium Fly Day' for me today.

Very slow early morning

Many HIRTA's spinners were caught in the spider's net.

6:29 The first and the last one was super tiny...

Need to reconsider your fishing plan this year, Lance.

Disappointed early morning...

Visited the river A from 5 to 7 AM.
First time in this fishing season.

Downstream area had been totally changed by the construction...

Felt nothing from the river.
And suffered from the spider's net at almost every hole...

Could see you several times, even in the early morning.

Saw critical change by the construction around upper stream area also!
I don't think I would be back to this river anymore...
Missing the old good memory of good fishes...

TANABIRA at ATERA ravine during family camping

Repaired the leak hole before leaving first.

1. Early morning on the 2nd day of camping

5:25 Hello, first one.

#14 brown crippled one was effective.

5:31 Got AMAGO, called 'TANABIRA' here at the same hole as the first one.

Not so cold.
A kind of comfortable fishing upstream.

5:40 3rd one.

6:28 Nice TANABIRA as 4th one.

6:53 Let's go back.

Size of fish was not enough though,
could enjoy the dry fly fishing during camping.

7:08 Need to make breakfast for them.

Let's have coffee before breakfast.

2. Evening on the 2nd day

17:52 Found only one spinner fallen.

It was a kind of out of my expectation, very slow evening.

18:43 Caught only one by ERUMON hair wing dun.

Should use smaller fly mainly?

3. Early morning of the 3rd day

Checked downstream of the campground first time.
5:19 First one.

5:26 a little size upped 2nd one.

Likely better reaction than the evening.

5:37 Typical NIKKO typed 3rd one.

Almost all of fish were caught at the slow current spot beside the mainstream.

6:10 4th one chased down my fly.

I tried the visible floating TANABIRA yesterday.
He sniffed my fly... I should have tried smaller fly first.

Anyway, had a comfortable dry fly fishing there.
