24 hours fishing trip; on the Farther's Day 6/21

Picked O-chi at 2AM 6/21 and back his home at 2AM 6/22. It was very long and fun fishing trip for me.

Met ICHIGO before 7:30 as scheduled. And we waited for a while till the rain got weak.

9:15 Very important first fish.

We fished in rain almost all through a day.

The reaction of fish has been getting well afternoon.

But don't forget how to set a hook.
You need to adjust the hooking for several attack pattern.

Especially good reaction for the crippled dun.

Forgot how many fish I caught there.

And O-chi got wet as we expected...

14:55 this SYAKU IWANA was caught at the last hole of the river A.

Good bye toad!

Moved to the river B. And found some good rises there.
Changed the fly to #14 spent dun pattern from stimulator.

It was perfect drift and hooking for this 31cm char trout.
Added two more fishes by #18 sparkle dun as AKAMADARA.

ERUMON said 'Have a safety drive, Lance!'. Yes, I did it through NAGANO.

30 & 31 on the father's day

30 by the #14 floating nymph.

31 by the #14 OKUMA spent dun.

What a fantastic father's day for me!!

KISO-IWANA; Short fishing during family camping

8/19 AM 6:21 Start fishing.
Water level was definitely high, but not worst.
And I liked this beautiful location so much!

6:33 Got first luck this trip.
Nice to meet you, KISO-IWANA!
I love your orange dots very much!!

Got two more strikes though, couldn't hook them up.
Stopped fishing around 8AM.

And breakfast time.

Don't forget to dry your fly, Lance.

8/20 5AM
Got up earlier than yesterday, and had a hot coffee first.

5:20 Start fishing at the upper section.

5:43 got first one with peacock parachute.

5:52 2nd one was a kind of good, I think.

I liked your wildness so much! Thank you for coming.

After above two fishes, the river kept silence.

But I was happy to have fishing time with such a wonderful nature.

Memorandum for next year

  1. #16 X-caddis might be the best fly for the evening this time of the year. Of course, it strongly depends on the hatch. But don't forget ' The rule of a common divisor', Lance. Breached white colored ELK should be chosen.
  2. Small size like #20 is needed for the peacock floating nymph pattern.
  3. 'KATA' should be checked first separately. No need long drift.
  4. Use only your wrist when you set a hook, Lance. Your hooking is too strong for the fine tippet like 8x.
  5. I felt we maybe should prioritize the daytime fishing better than the evening. So which means next week of G.W. might be the best timing.

It's been 5 years, since

I visited there before. This time Tommy was my fishing buddy.

5:30 Tommy picked me up.

7:40 We took a first rest on KURAGAIKE PA.

It was so nice fine day. We were looking forward to good fishing.

10:00 Just after 4.5h drive.

Crazy ICHIGO joined us after early morning SAKURAMASU salmon fishing.
Yeah, it is him.

My second fish was the best fighter which I met there today.

In his stomach, #14 size MADARA floating nymph and HIRATA nymph.

Hello pretty 4th one.

14:00 took a rest and quick lunch.
I felt that it was already past 2PM, because I fished madly.

14:30 5th one by the OKUMA floating nymph.

Super nice weather gave us fantastic fishing time.

15:00 My first AMAGO at this river was beautiful wild one.

15:24 7th one, almost 1 fish per 0.5 hour. Very comfortable pace.

Since added one more beautiful AMAGO there,
I could catch 8 before the evening.

It was just twice fish of the last trip.

Above pix were took by EOS M 11-22mm

Evening was not superb though, could catch 2 more fishes.
(by peacock floating nymph and HIRATA white parachute)
And 20:00 Finished fishing.

Only this pic was by EOS 6D 24-105mm L

22:00 took quick dinner at AKATSUKA PA. This light tasted noodle gave me an energy to drive and strong drowsiness... But I could be back my home 12:15AM safely.
Hopefully, wanna visit there again. Thanks, Tommy and ICHIGO.

Wonderful day

It was very nice fishing trip with Tommy and ICHIGO today.
Let me update the detail soon!
