Macro Lens Test at the river H in the early morning

5:12 Trapped spinner.
The reflection from its clear wing could be taken!

5:19 Did get the 1st one.

Small peacock parachute was effective.

6:03 2nd one was caught.

At such a hole.

6:42 #12 white parachute didn't work any
just after getting the 2nd one.

Huge black caddis, #10 size?

7:33 3rd one at the pool
which I didn't get any at the first time this morning.

I think I liked this macro lens very much!

A kind of satisfied feeling.
Thinking of the next destination.

Very slow early morning

Many HIRTA's spinners were caught in the spider's net.

6:29 The first and the last one was super tiny...

Need to reconsider your fishing plan this year, Lance.

Disappointed early morning...

Visited the river A from 5 to 7 AM.
First time in this fishing season.

Downstream area had been totally changed by the construction...

Felt nothing from the river.
And suffered from the spider's net at almost every hole...

Could see you several times, even in the early morning.

Saw critical change by the construction around upper stream area also!
I don't think I would be back to this river anymore...
Missing the old good memory of good fishes...

Rent a car and Fishing

Walking down to the shop to rent a car.

Headed for the upper branch water first.

9:52 First one of this season.

Very comfortable as I expected.

10:09 2nd one.
The upper section which I wanted to fish was occupied by the other fisherman...

Watch out over your head sometimes.

Around 15:00 in mainstream area.
I got one attack and could set a hook another one though, he was hooked off... #18-20 small Bk EHC on the riffle.

Moved to the downstream by foot.

No more bite till 17:30 time limit.

Dropped the car at the shop,
and walked to another destination.

A kind of exhausted already though,
let's have nice farewell party for Frank tonight.

First early morning practice this year around the mainstream

5:30-7:30 was only free time for me.
Visited the two riffle sections of the mainstream.

L-Hirata's dun including hatching one was seen several times,
even in the early morning.

Must be last ones of this season.

Small black caddis was seen around the lower section.

I think it'll be a good option to visit these riffle holes in the day time, because many aquatic insects were seen there especially caddis.

Checked the mainstream through a day under the light rain

Left home past 9 AM and arrived hole M first. Could see good hatch of KOKAGE and many rises of tiny fish though, couldn't see any of AMAGO.

Moved to the downstream of O, but the number of the aquatic insect got much fewer than hole M. Moved to the opposite shore of CA and met D-chan there. Felt the insect's number was fewer. So back to the hole M again.

Still it showed good hatch and found ERABUTA at a little upper stream.

In addition, HIRATA got popped out in the evenining! But situation was same. Decided to move the lower pool of hole R.

And as my expectation, there was good HIRATA's hatch and several rises!!
It was because of my poor skill that I couldn't get the rise. But it was good progress to find rises on the mainstream by myself. Keep trying, Lance.

Only 30min? around the mainstream

I took my younger daughter and my wife by car to her hospital which she used to visit. I thought I could fish at least 1 hour, and started fishing around 10:30 at the riffle near S cross section. But past 11 AM, my phone was rang... Too soon!!!

Hatch was poor, only several crane flies were seen. Should be good OKUMA's hatch around noon though... No pix.

Checked mainstream from 13:30 to 15:30

There was a time limit though,
it was my first FF of this year yesterday.

Could see many HIRATA though,
couldn't find any rises there...

Keep going, Lance.

Precious two lucks in the early morning

Theme of this morning was casting preciousness and drifting fly naturally. 7'6'' #3 made it much easier than 6'3'' #2 rod.

6:30 First one from the deep hole under the white bubbles.

7:00 Last one at the last hole by super preciousness and natural drift. Very satisfied with its process by myself.

For the casting skill up

I decided to use two different stiffness fly rods(#3 7'6'' Carbon, #2 6'3'' Glass) alternately for the early morning fishing. When I arrived the river D, it rained a lot(6:05). So I waited for a while in the car.

Since the rain got weak, I went out of the car and made preparation for fishing. But when I saw the river, I got a kind of frozen... Very muddy colored water... Had to change my plan to plan B, headed for the river E. Because of the existence of the earlier bait fisherman at the upper section, I got started fishing at the downstream. Must be first time to fish there.

Used #3 7'6'' Carbon rod after a long interval, and felt that it was much stiffer than #2 6'3'' Glassrod. Did some adjustment for the tippet length longer to fit the rod length. #14 EHC was attractive though, looked like a little big for the current situation. Some fishes went up to the fly on surface though, they didn't take it. So changed it to smaller pattern, #16 peacock parachute. And it did work well.

7:29 Caught first baby.

And added several same sized one.

7:58 Last fish was better and longer than earlier ones.

Saw many SAWAGANI around the road on the way to my car. By the way, it got already September, Lance. Are you ready for the ending of this season?

Only one luck was not bad in the early morning

6:00-7:30 at the river B. #14 black EHC only. Water showed a little high level after rain. Got several small strikes, one good one's reaction, and...

this golden one. Felt it was enough to go back home.
