It is already May 2018. The man formerly known as Lance likely forgot fishing this year. He's been thinking how to start his fishing this season though, his friend curryman knocked his door suddenly last week. So he said yes to go without hesitation.
9:12 parked and checked branch stream first.
9:50 after missed so-so IWANA trout first, got this baby as the first fish of 2018 today. It is always very important to catch the first fish as fisherman.
The river was surrounded by beautiful fresh green there.
10:05 First IWANA 2018.
The reaction was very slow.
Definitely too early for dry fishing yet.
11:29 Pretty AMAGO as the third one.
Small stoneflies were seen sometimes.
Moved up to the mainstream.
Stream itself looked good though, there was no reaction for my dry fly.
14:29 Got small AMAGO after missed bigger one.
15:10 Got good IWANA as the best one today.
He took my dry fly slowly in the riffle. So nice take!
Kept fishing in the drizzle.
16:31 The last one as the 6th and finished fishing today.
It seemed that one month earlier for dry fishing though,
I would like to say thank you to curryman pushing my back anyway.
